MEET THE TEAM

Dr Marlena du Toit

Her favorite quote is from Bob Marley:

“Love the life you live. Live the life you love.”— Bob Marley.

Life is fragile; you never know what can happen in the future. Choose to live a life that you love. Choose one that you can look back on and have no regrets.

After her completion of her undergraduate medical studies at Stellenbosch University in 1998, she worked in general medicine in RSA and the UK. She completed her training as a specialist in Obstetrics and Gynecology in 2008 at Stellenbosch University.

Since 2009 she has been in this practice, doing General Obstetrics and Gynecology. Her career in Obstetric care has been her core interest, leading to books that were published in 2015 and 2017.

During the 10 years in private practice, she so often heard about women struggling with sex-related problems and could not find a proper referral pathway.

In 2018 she undertook further part-time studies in Europa in the field of Sexual medicine. She qualified in 2020 as a Fellow of the European Committee of Sexual Medicine.

Since 2020 she offers her services to women as a gynecologist and to women/couples as a sexual medicine practitioner.

She first married her amazing husband, Ian Swanepoel, in 2018 at the age of 43! She adopted a new role as a nurturer and friend to his four kids.

She loves traveling, cooking, wine, photography and hiking.

She lives her faith in her practice and provides a body-mind-spirit approach in her assessments.
